What In the Jungle Adds

In the Jungle sends Dave and the crew to Utara, a jungle village tied to a new freshwater lake, ancient underwater routes, village relationships, and Bancho Grill. The important shift is that fish, dishes, and villagers now overlap. A single catch or item can matter for collection, cooking, a relationship check, or a later hand-in.

That makes the safest route simple: do one short dive, save the new finds, check the recipe finder, check the gift tracker, then decide what can be cooked or sold. Do not empty storage after every service night just because the item has a value.

First Utara Session

1. Confirm the DLC is installed on the same platform as your finished base-game save.
2. Enter Utara and talk to villagers before spending gifts or rare ingredients.
3. Do one short upper-lake pass and save unfamiliar catches.
4. Check the recipe finder before cooking the first copy of a new ingredient.
5. Check the gift tracker before selling animal parts, plants, gifts, or rare catches.
6. Move deeper only after you know whether the blocker is a fish, recipe, villager, or story gate.

Dive Route By Need

Do not treat every Utara dive as a full clear. A focused dive is easier to finish and easier to sort afterward. If the blocker is a fish entry, filter the finder by upper lake, lower lake, or lakebed sea before you leave the boat. If the blocker is a dish, search the recipe ingredient first, then decide whether the dive needs a common fish, a large target, a sleep route, a drone capture, or a deeper story gate.

Recipe And Gift Flow

Bancho Grill and Utara relationships can pull on the same storage. That is the main reason this hub links fish, recipes, and gifts instead of leaving them as separate lists. Before service, search the dish you want to unlock and mark the ingredients that should not be sold. Before a village visit, search the gift tracker and protect anything that also appears in a meal route.

The safest service habit is to keep one copy of anything new until it has passed three checks: does a recipe need it, does a villager want it, and does a quest or story step ask for it later? Once all three are clear, extra copies are easier to cook, sell, or use for rank progress. This is slower than clearing inventory after every night, but it prevents the annoying loop where one rare ingredient disappears right before a request.

Common Utara Mistakes

The most common mistake is diving deeper because the map feels new, not because the next task needs a deeper catch. Finish the simple target first. A clean upper-lake pass that unlocks one dish can be better than a long dive that returns with mixed fish and no obvious next action.

The second mistake is cooking the first copy of a new ingredient. In the Jungle adds enough cross-use items that the first copy should usually be treated as a check item, not a service-night ingredient. Cook duplicates when you know the recipe value or unlock route; keep the first copy when the finder still shows gift or request risk.

The third mistake is separating village and restaurant planning. Utara is easier when you start each session with one chosen problem: one fish to find, one dish to unlock, one villager route to advance, or one rare item to protect. Use the saved state in the tool for that small plan, then reset only when the storage question is solved.
